Welcome to the Disaster Response Center!

Mississippi United Methodist Disaster Response seeks to be a living expression of God's love by alleviating the suffering of those impacted by disaster.

The destruction of Hurricane Katrina has left thousands of individuals and families on the Mississippi Gulf Coast homeless, jobless and in need of resources to help them recover. Through the help of volunteers and churches, we are providing the resources that are necessary to get people back into safe, permanent homes. We are helping heal hearts and homes.

Our call center is located in Meridian but will be relocated to Gulfport in the Fall of 2007. It serves as the point of contact for churches, teams, and individuals wishing to come and work in Mississippi, make donations to our disaster relief, or simply get up-to-date information regarding the recovery process. Our primary focus is the scheduling of teams and individuals who wish to come and serve in areas affected by Hurricane Katrina.

In the call center volunteers diligently serve as operators, assisting in any way they can with information. We are open five days a week, Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
